If you want to edit registry and you don’t have administrator rights. Then you must be getting the message "Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator" on Windows XP or any other Windows NT Operating system. Here is the solution for you.

Click "Start >> Run” type this command exactly with out quotes as given below  “REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f” and now you can edit registries.
